Truly experiencing a place means listening to its sounds, walking its paths, touching its earth. Thanks to our collaboration with the "Associazione I Nebrodi," we offer you a calendar full of guided experiences among the mountains, forests and breathtaking views of the Nebrodi and Madonie Parks.
Nature hikes, river treks, nights under the stars, botanical itineraries, geological trails and more: each proposal is designed for those seeking a deep connection with nature and themselves.
A hike accessible to all, with minimal elevation gain and a loop trail of about 4.5 km immersed in the heart of the Nebrodi Park. The itinerary crosses a dense beech forest and touches the Coal Trail, where the ancient techniques of charcoal production are told. A short detour leads to Portella Pomiere, a vantage point with views of MountEtna and the Tyrrhenian Sea. The walk continues to thefenced area of Tassita, where you will encounter centuries-old yews, beech trees, monumental maples and hollies, in an environment unique for its botanical and landscape value. The hike takes about 2 1/2 hours (not including stops), starts from Portella dell'Obolo (Caronia) and is led by experienced nature guides.
A hike of medium difficulty and great beauty, recommended for those with a minimum of training. The route runs for about 15 km between the municipalities of Longi and Cesarò, starting from Case Mangalaviti and crossing some of the most majestic beech forests of the Nebrodi, where the light barely filters through the centuries-old trunks. The route also touches the Scavioli Woods, providing spectacular views of the Rocche del Crasto, Monte Soro and, in the distance, MountEtna. The final destination is the Biviere di Cesarò, a high-altitude lake located at 1280 m a.s.l., surrounded by an extraordinary landscape rich in aquatic flora and resident and migratory avifauna. The walk takes about 6 hours (not including stops), with an elevation gain of about 450 m, and involves returning along the same trail as the outward journey, through forests, clearings and breathtaking views.
An easy hike suitable for everyone, along a path of about 4 km immersed in the fluvial vegetation of the Caronia Torrent. The trail follows the riverbed and crosses a rural landscape rich in naturalistic and geological features: rocky outcrops, dry stone walls, ancient terracing and centuries-old olive trees. The walk ends at a restored 19th-century mill, now in the care of the I Nebrodi Association, where it is possible to observe the original structures (tub, shovels, millstones) and taste typical local products. The area, known as the Passo del Corvo gorge, also offers panoramic scenery shaped over time by the erosive action of water. The hike starts from Contrada Mannarano (Caronia), takes about 2 hours (not including stops), with 150 m of elevation gain.
A loop hike of about 13 km, suitable for walkers with a minimum of training, winding through the woods and scenic ridges of the municipalities of S. Stefano di Camastra, Mistretta and Caronia. The route starts and ends at Portella Calcari, crossing woods of turkey oaks and cork oaks, clearings and open stretches of Mediterranean scrub. The route follows a cart track with a natural bottom, alternating climbs, descents and exceptional viewpoints: you can admire the valley of the Caronia Torrent, the rocky outcrops of Monte Madonna della Neve, the reliefs of Pizzo Bidi and Monte Castelli, as far as the villages of Mistretta and Reitano. The route is immersed in the quiet of unspoiled nature, with about 400 m of elevation gain and an estimated duration of 5 hours (not including stops).
